In a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel Aty, in Ankara, Fidan said: “Our military cooperation with Egypt has been increasing recently. We will work on enhancing our cooperation with Egypt.” Fidan revealed that a large number of agreements are being prepared to be ready for signing by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the next Strategic Cooperation Council meeting.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, Fidan stated that “Hamas has shown a willingness to take positive steps to maintain the ceasefire agreement in Gaza,” emphasizing that “Israel must show the same desire.”

In the same context, Abdel Aty said: “Given the importance that the leaderships of both countries place on cooperation, the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was launched in Ankara last year, and we look forward to holding the second session of this council in Cairo next year.”

Earlier today, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan as part of regular consultations and coordination between the two countries.
