During the second day of the ATP Finals at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, two spectators tragically died from cardiac arrests, as reported by the Italian Tennis Federation (FITP) and ATP on Tuesday.

The deceased were 70 and 78 years old, and the incidents happened separately on Monday. The singles match featuring Italian Lorenzo Musetti and Taylor Fritz was postponed, with a public announcement about a medical emergency in the arena.

“The Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP) and the ATP offer their heartfelt condolences after the unfortunate deaths of two spectators yesterday during the ATP Finals in Turin,” a joint statement read.

“Medical and emergency teams on-site quickly responded, delivering all available assistance. Regrettably, despite immediate intervention and subsequent hospital transfer, both individuals sadly passed away.”

The season’s concluding championships have been hosted at the Turin arena since 2021, with the city set to host until 2026. The ATP Finals will continue in Italy through 2030.

On Monday, large crowds filled the arena, with Italian fans enthusiastically supporting defending champion Jannik Sinner, who triumphed over Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.
