This achievement coincides with the UAE’s celebrations of “Emirati Women’s Day,” which falls on August 28 each year. It affirms the status of Emirati women and their vital role in the development journey, embodying the empowerment policies pursued by the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai, based on justice, equal opportunities, and competence.
The achievement aligns with the “Year of Community” in the UAE, enhancing the values of social justice and inclusive community participation. It highlights the ongoing efforts led by the UAE government to strengthen the role of women and ensure a clear institutional and strategic environment, placing women as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development and social cohesion, according to Arab media.
The Director General of Dubai Municipality confirmed that obtaining this certification is a culmination of Dubai Municipality’s efforts, in line with the national policy for empowering Emirati women 2023-2031. The municipality is committed to providing a fair work environment based on competence and merit without discrimination, promoting the best global practices in gender balance.
The ISO (53800) certification is the first global standard dedicated to establishing a comprehensive framework for workplace enhancement. The standard includes several key areas, such as internal policies, equal opportunities, leadership empowerment, pay equity, and fair administrative and organizational practices.
