The Emirati minister confirmed that “this attack represents a blatant violation of sovereignty and a serious breach of international law and the United Nations Charter,” warning that it is “an irresponsible escalation that threatens security and stability in the region and the world,” according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The UAE Foreign Minister expressed the United Arab Emirates’ full solidarity with Qatar, affirming its unwavering support for everything that ensures the protection of Qatar’s security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
He called on the international community, led by the United Nations Security Council, to “assume its legal and moral responsibilities to deter and stop its barbaric attacks.”
The UAE Foreign Minister warned that “the continuation of this aggressive behavior will lead to further tension and escalation, hindering efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.”
Earlier today, the Israeli army stated: “The IDF and the Shin Bet, through the Air Force, recently launched a precision-targeted attack on Hamas leadership.” It added: “The leaders targeted have led Hamas’ terrorist activities for years and bear direct responsibility for the acts of October 7, 2023, and managing the war against Israel.”
Earlier, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir threatened to eliminate Hamas leaders abroad amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
