The UAE is set to introduce its inaugural hospital-based vertiport, where air taxis will operate for takeoffs and landings. This exciting development was announced today by Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Archer Aviation Inc.
This vertiport will enable passengers to reach nearby destinations from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in mere minutes, significantly cutting travel times compared to conventional ground transport.
The service will cater to both non-emergency passenger trips and urgent organ transport needs. Additionally, the current helipad will be upgraded by Archer to support operations for traditional helicopters as well as eVTOL aircraft.
Archer has revealed plans to utilize Midnight, their electric aircraft, which can accommodate up to four passengers. This aircraft offers reduced noise and emissions compared to standard helicopters and will be configured for both passenger and medical transportation purposes.
