Kasaiija added, in statements to ‘Sputnik’ on the sidelines of his visit to Algeria and his participation in the fourth Intra-African Trade Fair: “We did not come here for politics; we came for the economy, for business. As far as the economy is concerned, Uganda and Algeria have strong trade relations.” He emphasized the importance of integration and cooperation among African countries for genuine and sustainable development and to create promising opportunities for the youth.
The Ugandan minister explained that he visited Algeria three years ago, but now he sees how this country is moving very quickly, how people are walking and working, and this gives him hope, noting that “they should come here to learn from what Algerians have achieved.”
Regarding his assessment of the African Intra-Trade Fair in Algeria, Kasaiija mentioned that “he was there yesterday and today, and the fair is wonderful,” explaining that “the African continent is moving very well, and there are many things being manufactured now on the continent, which are much cheaper than what we used to import from various parts of the world.”
He added: “Therefore, truly, I am very encouraged, and I will go to advocate that this kind of event should be held in every African country.”
