Israel Intercepts Rockets Amid Gaza Conflict

The Israeli army released a statement on Wednesday evening, confirming the detection of five rockets launched from northern Gaza towards Israeli territory. It explained that four of these rockets were intercepted, while one fell in an open area without causing any injuries. Israeli media confirmed hearing loud explosions in the air following the sound of warning sirens in the vicinity.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine, announced a special operation in the Al-Nasr neighborhood of Gaza City targeting an Israeli engineering force, resulting in the death and disappearance of all its members. According to a statement by the Al-Quds Brigades’ military media, a pre-rigged house was detonated using homemade explosive devices, along with other devices prepared from Israeli military remnants, noting that the detonation occurred as the Israeli force entered the building to rig and destroy it.

The Al-Quds Brigades confirmed that the operation was documented by a “Hudhud” drone, which captured the moment Israeli forces entered and the house exploded, resulting in the death or disappearance of all soldiers inside the building, with no injuries reported among them. Following the operation, Israeli forces launched intense and unprecedented airstrikes around the operation site in an attempt to retaliate.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed on Wednesday his country’s determination to retrieve all detainees and disarm Hamas. Katz issued a final warning for Gaza residents to evacuate, indicating a tightening of the siege on Gaza to defeat “”, adding that “the army completes control over the Netzarim axis on the western coast of Gaza,” stating, “We will force everyone leaving Gaza City to the south to pass through checkpoints.”

Earlier on Monday, the White House issued President Donald Trump’s “comprehensive” plan consisting of 20 points to end the conflict in Gaza. According to the document titled “President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza,” the statement read: “Gaza will be an area free from extremism and terrorism, posing no threat to its neighbors.” It added: “If both parties agree to this proposal, the war will end immediately. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed line in preparation for the release of hostages.”

It further stated: “Once all hostages are released, 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment will be released, along with 1700 Gaza residents arrested after October 7, 2023, including all women and children detained in this context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are returned, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.”

It continued: “Once all hostages are returned, amnesty will be granted to Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and disarmament, and a safe passage will be provided for Hamas members wishing to leave Gaza to receiving countries.”
