In addition to predators like the snow leopard and herbivores like the Himalayan mountain deer, a unique bird stands out among all other creatures with its distinctive diet. The Lammergeier vulture soars over the slopes of the Himalayas searching for bones, not carcasses, but bones of animals previously hunted by predators and then cleaned by scavenger vultures before they become the share of this massive vulture. The Lammergeier takes the bones and flies high before dropping them from a great height to shatter them and feed on the bone marrow.
