He said, “We have agreed with our American colleagues not to disclose the essence of the talks that were held.” Ushakov added that the American delegation, after completing its negotiations with President Vladimir Putin, went to the American embassy in Moscow to later report directly to President Donald Trump in Washington.
Ushakov told reporters: This is the sixth visit of Wietcov to Russia this year. He visited Moscow on February 11 and March 13, then met with Putin on April 11 in St. Petersburg, and again on April 25 in Moscow. Another meeting was held on August 6, which the Kremlin described at the time as “productive and with tangible results.”
All these visits are related to the Ukrainian file, and they have contributed to the exchange of messages that allowed the preparation for an anticipated Russian-American summit in Alaska. The current visit comes within the framework of discussing the American settlement plan. President Putin had earlier announced Moscow’s readiness for “serious discussions” regarding the American plan for Ukraine.
