Netanyahu said, “His (the US Secretary of State’s) visit here is a testament to the strength and robustness of the Israeli-American alliance.” He continued, “It is as strong and resilient as the stones of the Western Wall (Al-Buraq) that we have just touched.” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited the Western Wall today, Sunday, where he prayed alongside Benjamin Netanyahu and Mike Huckabee. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced earlier that Netanyahu would visit the Western Wall with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is visiting Israel.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Tel Aviv today, Sunday, on a visit during which he will discuss the Gaza issue and renew his country’s support for Israel. Prior to his departure for Israel, Rubio reiterated his country’s support for Israel despite the strikes on Qatar, which faced criticism from US President Donald Trump, as well as from regional and international parties.

The “Axios” portal reported earlier that Rubio is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday and Monday to discuss Israel’s potential annexation of parts of the West Bank. This meeting is in response to plans announced by several Western countries to recognize the State of Palestine later in September. He continued, “The Israeli claims of not opposing the annexation plan have raised concerns in the Trump administration, which saw it as a pressure tactic to corner them.”
