The United States has halted visa approval for nearly all Palestinian passport holders, as reported by The New York Times on Sunday.
These restrictions exceed those previously announced by President Donald Trump’s administration, which targeted visitors from Gaza.
According to unnamed officials, Palestinians will be barred from traveling to the US for medical care, education, and business purposes, the newspaper stated.

Two weeks ago, the State Department announced a suspension of all visitor visas for Gaza residents while it undertakes “a full and thorough” review, a decision criticized by pro-Palestinian groups.
Previously, the US denied and revoked visas for members of two major Palestinian organizations—the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority—prior to the United Nations General Assembly meeting in September.
Due to these restrictions, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas may be unable to travel to New York for his customary address at the annual assembly.
