Close associates of the player accused the club president, Florentino Perez, of lying after news circulated about an agreement between the parties to extend the contract until 2030. This was denied by the Brazilian star’s entourage, confirming that the proposed salary does not differ from his current contract of 20 million euros annually.
On the other hand, reports stated that Perez informed the player’s agents, Vinicius Junior, that contract renewal depends on the improvement of his performance, considering that his level last season was not acceptable, especially given his demand for a salary equal to what Kylian Mbappe earns (31 million euros annually).
Vinicius Junior is considered one of the team’s pillars in recent seasons, having contributed to Real Madrid’s victory in several local and European titles. However, his recent decline in performance sparked a new crisis within the ‘Royal’ walls.
So far, the Brazilian Vinicius Junior has played 314 matches in the Real Madrid jersey, scoring 105 goals and providing 79 assists, contributing to the team’s victory in 14 titles.
Vinicius has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay, but financial disagreements and the delay in renewing the contract may push him to consider a new step.
