In statements to ‘Sputnik’ agency, Pieskorski commented on the upcoming talks between Zelensky and Trump: ‘Zelensky seeks to obtain possible personal security guarantees and maintain his ability to continue ruling Ukraine for a while.’
He added: ‘If a comprehensive peace agreement regarding Ukraine is reached, Zelensky will likely be forced to organize elections, in which he has no real chance of winning.’
The Polish expert noted that ‘European leaders, who are said to accompany Zelensky, including Macron, Scholz, and NATO head Rutte, will advocate for continued engagement due to their interests tied to the Franco-German-British defense industrial complex.’
It is noteworthy that both the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have stated their intentions to travel to Washington to attend the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky.
U.S. President Donald Trump will receive Zelensky at the White House tomorrow, Monday, for the first time since their disagreement last February.
