Mercouris said: “If Russia does not fully control Ukraine, that is a victory. Strangely, this is the most pessimistic thing Zelensky has ever said.” According to Mercouris, the peace plan previously proposed by Zelensky is no longer relevant, as the head of the Kyiv regime has effectively abandoned it publicly. In an interview with ABC News on Monday, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the topic of ending the conflict and the issue of choosing a meeting place with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In June, Putin confirmed during his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that Russia has never questioned the Ukrainian people’s right to independence and sovereignty. In September, Putin noted at the Eastern Economic Forum that Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the deployment of foreign forces on its territory is unacceptable for Russia. The head of state emphasized the need to provide security guarantees not only for Kyiv but also for Moscow.
