A video shows the incident involving the 12-year-old boy as he passed in front of a stationary garbage truck, which suddenly moved to continue its route towards another container. The video footage also reveals that the boy was distracted and not paying attention to the path he was crossing. It is unclear from the clip whether he was holding a phone or not. Instead of recognizing his mistake of passing directly in front of the truck, the victim did not raise his hands to alert the driver of his presence in front of the high vehicle, as safety rules and instructions require.
