The Mehr News Agency reported on Monday morning, quoting Mehr Abadi, who accompanied the released Iranians back to their homeland, that “50 more Iranians have been released from American prisons and have left for Kuwait to return to Iran.” The Iranian official confirmed that “the return of Iranian prisoners follows the strict immigration policies pursued by the administration of President Donald Trump.” He noted that “the Iranians were transferred from Florence Prison in Arizona to Mesa Airport to depart from there to Kuwait and then to Iran.” The agency highlighted that before their release, Mehr Abadi met with them in prison and conversed with them. The head of the Iranian Interests Section in Washington pointed out the efforts to release Iranians in the United States and their conditions in prisons, in conjunction with the implementation of strict immigration policies, which intensified following the shooting of two members of the US National Guard, one of whom was killed, by an Afghan citizen residing in the United States.
