These particles, found in the blood, brain, and testes, are prevalent components in our bodies. They enter primarily through hot and cold sources, according to ‘News Medical’. Researchers examined 155 types of common beverages, including hot and iced tea and coffee, juices, energy drinks, and sodas. High-quality tea bags released larger amounts, up to 24–30 particles per cup. Single-use coffee cups are the main source of particles in hot coffee. This study is a crucial step in understanding the extent of plastic particle exposure from food sources, urging health and environmental actions to reduce this spread. Experts encourage reducing the use of plastic cups and bags and shifting to more sustainable alternatives to mitigate the risks associated with these particles.
