This occurred during his meeting in London with British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, where Abbas outlined priorities, which are: immediate and permanent ceasefire, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the release of hostages and prisoners, withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the commencement of reconstruction and early recovery, according to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA).

Abbas mentioned the preparation for parliamentary and presidential elections within a year of the war’s end, clarifying that any party or candidate wishing to participate must adhere to the program of the Palestine Liberation Organization, international legitimacy, and the principle of “One Authority, One Law, and One Legitimate Security Force.”

The Palestinian President reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside.

The Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas” announced that it is ready to immediately sit at the negotiating table after receiving proposals from the American side to discuss the release of all Israeli hostages, in exchange for a clear declaration of ceasefire and withdrawal of forces from the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on “Telegram,” the movement said: “We received several ideas from the American side through mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement.” It added, “In this context, Hamas welcomes any steps that contribute to ending the aggression against our people and confirms its readiness to immediately sit at the negotiating table to discuss the release of all hostages in exchange for a clear declaration to stop the war, complete withdrawal of forces from the Gaza Strip, and the formation of a committee to manage the sector from independent Palestinian figures.”

The movement confirmed that it “is ready to immediately hand over power to a technocrat committee after receiving concrete assurances from the enemy of its commitment to this agreement.” Earlier, US President Donald Trump called on Hamas to accept the American conditions related to the peace agreement, noting that the Israeli side had already agreed to them.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated, last Sunday, that the war in the Gaza Strip could end tomorrow in only two cases. The “Times of Israel” newspaper reported on Sunday morning that these two cases are if Hamas releases the Israeli hostages and prisoners and surrenders its weapons.

Gideon Sa’ar’s statements came during a press conference with the Danish Foreign Minister in the occupied city of Jerusalem, a day after the Palestinian movement reiterated its position that it would release all hostages if Israel agreed to end the war and withdraw its forces.
