The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce announced the registration of over 400 new companies in the field of artificial intelligence by the end of the second quarter of the current year, highlighting the rapid development and growing interest in this sector within the emirate.
According to a new study by the Chamber, an average of one artificial intelligence company was established every two days in Abu Dhabi during the first half of 2024. This sector has become the fastest-growing in terms of new business creation, reaffirming the emirate’s commitment to establishing itself as a global hub for innovation and technology.
Over six months, nearly 90 companies were registered in the emirate, resulting in an impressive growth rate of 41.3% compared to the same period last year. A previously published study indicated that the number of registered companies in the artificial intelligence sector increased by 67% from 2021 to 2023.
The rapid growth in the number of artificial intelligence companies reflects the expansion of this sector in Abu Dhabi and the increasing attractiveness of the emirate as a leading platform for technological innovations on both regional and global levels. This progress also reflects Abu Dhabi’s strategic commitment to developing artificial intelligence to support sustainable development and build a knowledge-based economy.
The study also revealed that research and consulting in the field of artificial intelligence comprise the overwhelming majority of commercial activities, accounting for 69% of the total. This confirms the growing interest from both the public and private sectors in developing technologies and stimulating economic growth through high-tech research and consulting services.
Training in artificial intelligence ranks second among the activities at 11%, followed by the management and operation of robotic systems at 10%. Wholesale and retail trade in robots and AI account for 8% and 2%, respectively. These factors strengthen Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a prime destination for investments, startups, and talent in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as confirm its readiness to leverage artificial intelligence for further integration into various sectors of the economy.Abu Dhabi Reports 41.3% Increase in Artificial Intelligence Companies in the First Half of 2024
