In his first interview after assuming his new position with Sputnik, Lyubinsky stated: “This was clearly evident in the stance of the Council of Europe. Despite our country’s withdrawal from this organization, which held its position on March 15, 2022, the main objective of the Strasbourg Council is no longer to promote and protect human rights but to literally fight against Russia.”
Lyubinsky further noted that the Council of Europe, ironically, is actually trying to circumvent international law to punish Russia while simultaneously avoiding any potential “backlash.”
Moscow has repeatedly affirmed that it will face the pressure exerted by the West for several years, which continues to increase. Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia has adapted, and the economy has long been operating under a plethora of restrictions.
