The June trial took place in Khalifa City, involving a drone delivering a simulated package from a post office to a designated zone. Supported by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), the trial was executed by LODD and logistics group 7X.

With ongoing trials, LODD plans to start UAV parcel and cargo deliveries by the latter half of 2026, promising significant cost savings, according to their CEO.

Dubai initiated drone deliveries for medicines and parcels in October 2024, with DCAA granting Keeta Drone the first licence for operations in Dubai Silicon Oasis, starting with six drones.

As drone demand increases, Dubai-based EANAN has established the UAE’s first commercial drone manufacturing plant. The aim is to reduce component imports and shift to local production, enabling the UAE to lead in smart aviation.
