In an interview with the agency today, Thursday, it was explained that artificial intelligence has become an urgent necessity rather than just for entertainment, as it is now being used to serve all sectors. Al-Shuailei emphasized that artificial intelligence technologies can be employed in many daily needs of modern cities, whether in data analysis, city monitoring, or automated delivery of equipment and machinery.

The AI specialist warned that these technologies do not have emotions and only process data correctly if the data itself is accurate. However, there are challenges in controlling artificial intelligence overall, particularly in the ethics of employing this data and its extent of use.

Al-Shuailei noted that he participated in the ‘Smart Cities Future Forum’ with a research paper on the ethics of artificial intelligence and data employment ethics, identifying factors that lead to incorrect outcomes from AI. He pointed out that AI deals daily with millions of data points, making it uncontrollable.

He mentioned that AI itself generates new data daily, preventing full control over it. In some places, AI applications have been used, but they have produced incorrect or unintended results.

Citing examples, AI showed bias towards certain individuals during recruitment by favoring certain genders or skin colors over others. Al-Shuailei stressed the need for international cooperation and collaboration with companies producing this technology to address this challenge, especially since it hinders any restrictions on the AI industry, which seeks dominance over these technologies contrary to the users.

It is noted that the Russian capital, Moscow, specifically in Zaryadye Park, hosts and relies on artificial intelligence, with Arab participation from Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
