Al Hilal Withdraws from 2025 Saudi Super Cup

The Electronic Union confirmed on Tuesday evening that Al Hilal decided to withdraw from the 2025 Saudi Super Cup due to its inability to participate in the tournament, resulting from its late completion in the FIFA Club World Cup. The Saudi Disciplinary and Ethics Committee has outlined the imposed sanctions, primarily banning participation in the Saudi Super Cup for the next season 2026-2027. The same committee decided to fine Al Hilal 500,000 Saudi Riyals, in addition to depriving the club, known as “Al Zaeem,” of any financial amounts allocated for the Saudi Super Cup for the 2025-2026 sports season. The committee’s official statement also indicated that the decision is appealable according to Article (144) of the Disciplinary and Ethics Regulations. It is noted that Al Ahli will participate instead of Al Hilal, with the tournament featuring Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, and Al Qadisiyah and taking place in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23.
