Senegalese star Sadio Mane managed to score for Al-Nassr in the tenth minute of the match, before Dutchman Steven Bergwijn succeeded in equalizing for Al-Ittihad in the 16th minute.
From the 25th minute of the game, Al-Nassr was forced to continue with ten players after their star Sadio Mane was sent off for a rough tackle on Al-Ittihad’s goalkeeper Hamed Al-Shanqeeti during a duel.
In the 61st minute, Al-Nassr secured the winning goal through their new Portuguese player Joao Felix, following a magical pass from captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is noted that Al-Nassr will await the winner of the match taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, in the second semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup.
Al-Nassr Club announced last June the extension of football star Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract until 2027, ending speculation about his future after the current season. The announcement was made via a post on the ‘X’ platform, where the club confirmed the stay of the 40-year-old, who appeared in a promotional video saying, ‘Al-Nassr forever.’
Ronaldo published a photo of his contract renewal with Al-Nassr, writing, ‘A new chapter has begun, same passion, same dream, let’s make history together.’
