Dubai’s Majid Al Futtaim, known for operating malls and Carrefour in the UAE, unveiled its discount grocery brand Sava on Wednesday.
The retail leader launched its flagship store in Deira, with another opening soon in Murjan Tower, Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR), Dubai.
The company plans to open two more stores this week, aiming for 10 locations across the UAE by year-end.
Recently, it closed its Carrefour branch in Al Nahda, Dubai, and introduced Sava. During a visit by Khaleej Times earlier this month, the branch was undergoing renovation.

Majid Al Futtaim has also shut down Carrefour outlets in Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, launching the new hypermarket brand HyperMax instead.
CEO Günther Helm confirmed that there are no plans to close Carrefour in the UAE currently.
“This launch highlights our ongoing commitment to investing in the UAE’s grocery sector… Sava is a new era in grocery retail, offering value without sacrificing quality,” stated the company on Wednesday.
With 160 weekly offers and over 1,600 products, Sava aims to serve customers looking to maximize their spending without compromising on quality.
Majid Al Futtaim operates 29 malls, including the flagship Mall of the Emirates, Mall of Egypt, and Mall of Oman, along with the renowned City Centre locations.
