Amnesty International claimed on Monday that Israel is implementing a “deliberate policy” of starvation in Gaza. This accusation is based on testimonies from displaced Palestinians and medical staff treating undernourished children in the area.

Israel, which has heavily restricted aid to the Gaza Strip, has consistently denied allegations of intentional starvation during the 22-month conflict. When contacted by AFP, the military and foreign ministry declined to comment on Amnesty’s report.

The report by Amnesty states, “Israel is conducting a deliberate starvation campaign in the occupied Gaza Strip, systematically undermining the health, well-being, and social structure of Palestinian life.”
