The head of the Supreme Political Council for ‘Ansar Allah’, Mahdi Al-Mashat, stated in a declaration broadcast by the group’s spokesperson channel ‘Al-Masirah’: ‘The Zionist strikes are unsuccessful and will remain so, and our long arm will teach them the necessary lesson.’ Al-Mashat believes that ‘the Zionist entity is the problem, and all the people of the region must unite efforts and stance to confront and eradicate this cancerous growth,’ as he put it.

Earlier today, Israeli fighter jets conducted a series of airstrikes on the barracks and military headquarters of the Yemeni ‘Ansar Allah’ group in the capital, Sanaa, including the Ministry of Interior. A Yemeni source told ‘Sputnik’ agency: ‘Israeli fighters launched 12 raids on the city of Sanaa, targeting Jabal Attan, which houses the missile brigade command southwest of the city, Al-Nahdayn camp in the presidential complex, the Central Security Forces camp in the Al-Sabeen area south of Sanaa, and the Ministry of Interior headquarters in Al-Hasba area north of Sanaa.’

The Israeli army statement read: ‘The Air Force has recently precisely targeted a military objective of the Houthi regime in the Sanaa area.’ It added: ‘The IDF is acting vigorously against the Houthi regime in parallel with intensifying strikes on Hamas and will continue to act to eliminate any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.’

Later, Israeli media reported that a number of ‘Ansar Allah’ leaders were at the site targeted by Israel, and Channel 12 quoted an Israeli source saying that the assassination operations were planned earlier this week within the previous wave of raids and were executed today.

The Israeli army announced on Wednesday, and published early on Wednesday, that ‘a missile was launched from Yemen towards Israeli territory, and the air defense systems worked to intercept this threat.’ On July 28th, ‘Ansar Allah’ announced an escalation of its attacks on Israel and the commencement of the fourth phase of the ‘naval blockade on Israel,’ threatening to target ships belonging to any company dealing with Israeli ports regardless of nationality and wherever the group’s forces could reach, in response to the continued operations of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

At the end of last July, Abdel Malik Al-Houthi revealed that his forces had launched 1,679 missiles, drones, and warboats on Israel and ships linked to it and to America and Britain, since November 2023. Since the resumption of Tel Aviv’s military operations in the Gaza Strip on March 18th, the ‘Ansar Allah’ group in Yemen has intensified its attacks on Israel and ships linked to it and the United States and Britain, prompting U.S. forces to carry out hundreds of airstrikes on the group’s sites in Yemen before the group and Washington reached a ceasefire agreement on May 6th. However, ‘Ansar Allah’ confirmed that the agreement does not include operations against Israel.
