Apple will not launch the new iPhone Air model in fall 2026 as originally scheduled, according to a report by the Information on Monday, citing informed sources.

The iPhone Air, introduced in 2025, serves as a lighter and slimmer option in Apple’s premium iPhone lineup. Its sleek design does come with some compromises, particularly in battery capacity and camera functionality.

Apple did not immediately address a comment request from Reuters, and Reuters could not independently confirm the report. Experts suggest that the iPhone Air’s demand has been lower than expected.

In October, Apple announced the iPhone Air would be available for pre-order in China, following the approval of eSIM services by local telecom providers.

Design and Display of iPhone Air

The iPhone Air, Apple’s slimmest phone, is just 5.6mm thick, featuring a Grade 5 titanium frame for exceptional durability and a glossy mirror finish. Its innovative internal design maximizes battery space, ensuring all-day power.

Apple has introduced Ceramic Shield 2 on both sides, providing triple the scratch resistance on the front and quadruple the crack resistance on the back, surpassing all previous iPhone models in durability.

iPhone Air Camera

The iPhone Air boasts a 48MP Fusion main camera, akin to four lenses, with 28mm and 35mm focal lengths and a 2x optical-quality Telephoto lens. Enhanced low-light performance is achieved with a 2.0µm quad-pixel sensor and sensor-shift OIS. The improved Photonic Engine captures more realistic details and vivid colors.

eSIM-only

The iPhone Air supports eSIM-only connectivity, optimizing space and security. eSIM offers easy travel and roaming options, supported by over 500 carriers globally, and it cannot be removed if the phone is lost or stolen.

Pricing in the UAE

The iPhone Air represents Apple’s most refined design statement in years—ultra-thin, powerful, and minimalist with its single-lens architecture.

Available in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue, it offers 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants. Prices start at Dh4,299 in the UAE.
