In a video clip, a 175-pound bear is seen wandering around the store while everyone watches in horror. The bear had bitten an elderly woman on her leg, and she was rushed to the hospital immediately. Reports later confirmed that the bear also attacked a local resident’s dog.
Despite police efforts to scare the bear back into the forest using rubber bullets, the animal insisted on returning to the store, prompting the authorities to decide to shoot it.
Sussex County in New Jersey is one of the areas with the highest presence of black bears, with approximately 294 bear-related incidents recorded this year alone.
