Every year, scammers develop new fraudulent techniques and continue to exploit people’s ignorance and the vulnerabilities of digital services. Often, these methods appear as ‘profitable’ offers through messaging and email, under the guise of increasing the rating of an online store or hotel and enhancing its visibility on the network. They promise high salaries and the possibility of working remotely from home, so it does not interfere with your usual job, to earn additional income, according to what was published. Here we highlight the main points mentioned: Most of the time, attackers aim to access the potential victim’s government services, not their online banking services. Why? This way, they can find out which banks the person has accounts with, defraud their properties, apply for loans through several services, and link their authorization to them. This is often done via phone calls: if you are asked to pay an amount for something during a discussion of employment or training, you are likely being scammed. Remember, real employers do not ask candidates to financially participate in any transactions. Human resource managers use company email with the company’s domain name for work correspondence. Also, if you are asked to enable screen sharing or install a mobile application, do not do it. Verify job openings and training information on the company’s official website or specialized resources for job search.
