Mohamed Nalim, a 63-year-old Sri Lankan banker who has lived in Saudi Arabia for 19 years, also won. Though his family is in Sri Lanka, Nalim remains supportive and connected.
He learned about Big Ticket seven years ago from a Pakistani friend. “My friend regularly bought tickets, and that’s how I discovered Big Ticket,” he explained. “Together with him and another friend, I started buying tickets. After a break, I saw Big Ticket ads on YouTube and decided to try again, this time solo.”
When Nalim got the winning call, he was both astonished and elated. “I was initially in disbelief, but I always felt I would win someday. You could say I manifested this,” he said. He plans to give the gold to his wife for making jewelry for their daughter. “I’ll keep trying my luck and encourage my bank colleagues to do the same. Big Ticket is doing a great job helping those in need,” he added.
Bangladeshi expat Mansur Ahmmad, 24, living in Dubai for four years, celebrated his win with friends. It was his first ticket purchase.
“I heard about Big Ticket on social media and decided to team up with 10 friends to try our luck,” he said. “Imagine our fortune—it was our first time, and we won! We’re all ecstatic and thankful.”
The prize will be shared among the group. “We plan to keep buying tickets together. It’s an unforgettable experience,” he added.
Ajith Samuel, 44, a mechanical engineer from Kerala residing in the UAE for 19 years, also won a gold bar. He participates in the draws with a group of friends that has grown from three to ten members over time.
“It was amazing and truly unexpected,” he said. “It’s my first prize like this.” Ajith said they purchase tickets monthly without fail and plan to continue. As for his prize, he’s undecided but will split it with the group first. His advice: “Keep purchasing, keep trying, and eventually, you will win.”
Vibin Vasudevan, 37, an IT professional from Kerala living in Dubai for 10 years, celebrated his win with his gym community.
“I think everyone in the UAE has heard of Big Ticket—it’s on social media, news, and at Abu Dhabi Airport,” he said. “A year ago, I formed a group of 20 from my gym, and we buy tickets monthly. It was truly remarkable. We’re all thrilled and will share the gold equally. This experience has brought us closer.”
