In an interview with ‘Sputnik’ radio, Deeb ruled out the possibility of any direct military clash between the United States and Russia. He pointed out that Washington will not engage in any war itself but seeks to destabilize Europe to entangle the continent in a major conflict.
While he believed that ‘Tomahawk’ missiles would not affect the course of the conflict, he confirmed that the United States is waging an economic war that primarily revolves around China. He noted that there is no need for a diplomatic meeting between the American and Russian presidents since the course of the conflict aligns with American ambitions on one hand and benefits the other on the other hand.
He indicated that the disagreement between Europe and the United States is a conflict of democratic values and cultural clash, which is no less dangerous than military conflict. He explained that Western Europe is trying to establish its presence in the global system independently of the United States. However, Europe represents the ‘sick man’ struggling with its problems.
He emphasized the clarity of the American and Russian positions, in contrast to the European position, and predicted the exclusion of Kyiv and the European role, with Europe submitting to American conditions or entering into a settlement under its umbrella, with the possibility of withdrawal from NATO in the coming months.
