Kuwait Records Highest Well Production Rate

The company indicated that “the discovery of the field recorded the highest production rate for a vertical well from the Manaqeesh layer in Kuwait’s history, as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to develop hydrocarbon resources in the country.”

It explained that the initial test results of the “Jaza-1” well showed exceptional production exceeding 29 million cubic feet of gas per day and more than 5,000 barrels of condensates per day. The reservoir is characterized by a low percentage of carbon dioxide gas and is free of hydrogen sulfide gas and associated water, which makes it outstanding.

The company confirmed that “these figures are preliminary with the potential to increase through further expansion.”

This discovery is the third in the maritime area where Kuwait began exploration as part of its investment to meet future oil demand. The first discovery was in 2024, with an estimated oil reserve of about 3.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
