The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation stated in a release that Cairo International Airport experienced delays for flights coming from Heathrow Airport in London, Luton in Ireland, Brussels in Belgium, and Berlin in Germany. The delays also affected some international flights to Hurghada and Sphinx airports. The ministry confirmed that Egyptian airline flights were not affected, noting ongoing monitoring of the situation through the central operations room and in coordination with international entities.

The statement explained that the attack caused a temporary disruption to IT systems at the affected airports, which partially impacted takeoff operations. The ministry assured that it will promptly address any developments and urged travelers to check their updated flight schedules, especially on foreign airlines.

Several European airports, including Brussels, Berlin, and Heathrow in London, experienced an “electronic disruption” on Saturday that affected check-in and baggage handling systems, causing delays, according to Collins Aerospace, a company specializing in airport services. The company added, “We are aware of an electronic glitch in our ‘MUSE’ program at selected airports,” following reports from at least three busy European airports about disruptions, with warnings of potential delays.
