Cairo Airport Operations Unaffected by Power Outage

The ministry said, “The outage occurred in the backup line supplying the Cairo Air Navigation Center, and officials from the electricity company were immediately contacted.” It noted that the main line supplying the airport is operating efficiently and stably without any impact. It added, “The electrical system of Cairo Airport and the Cairo Navigation Services Center is fully secured with special stations equipped with alternative sources, in addition to backup generators to ensure uninterrupted operation, which contributed to providing navigation and aviation services normally and without any effect.” The statement confirmed that “all operational processes at Cairo International Airport are proceeding normally and regularly, and no impact on flights or services provided to passengers has been observed.” The Ministry of Electricity’s statement comes amid ongoing power outages, in addition to water outages, experienced in several areas in Giza Governorate following a technical malfunction at the main Golden Island power station in the governorate.
