The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will launch free online AI bootcamps starting in September. UAE schools affiliated with CBSE are enhancing these camps with extension programmes and logistical support to increase student and teacher engagement.

This initiative merges education, mentorship, and recognition. Targeting Classes 9 and 10, the board will host these camps in four segments — September 1–17, October 6–17, November 3–18, and December 1–16.

Schools are required to register students, who should use a device for interactive activities. Access links will be provided to registered emails, and a dedicated CBSE support email is available for assistance.

Integration into School Timetables

“The upcoming CBSE AI bootcamps will seamlessly fit into the students’ and teachers’ learning schedules as an after-school extension program,” stated Deepika Thapar Singh, CEO-Principal of Credence High School.

Singh explained that teachers will engage from 1.30-4.30 pm as part of their professional development, while students will participate from 2.30-4.30 pm, right after school ends at 2.10 pm.

“This setup ensures core academic hours remain unaffected while offering valuable AI learning opportunities,” she added.

Singh also emphasized the school’s strategy to foster participation.

“To maximize participation and benefit, we will build on the strong foundation where AI is mandatory from Grades 2–10 and optional in Grades 11–12. Parents and students will be informed about the significance of AI literacy for academic and career success, and smooth logistics will enable students to attend the sessions easily.”

Vandana Marwaha, Principal and Director of Delhi Private School Sharjah, noted that AI is already integrated into the school’s curriculum, similar to many schools across the nation.

“Artificial Intelligence is not new to us — it is well embedded in our curriculum and learning programs. Our middle school capstone courses, AI-driven computer curriculum, and expanded STEM and robotics pathways ensure students are actively learning AI, ML, and data analytics.”

She elaborated on teacher preparation.

“Mathematics and science teachers have completed over 20 hours of CPD in these areas, and our transition to AI-integrated teaching is ongoing, with faculty consistently engaging with practical AI scenarios.”

Marwaha added that students gain from customized learning and that the bootcamps will enhance their existing knowledge base.

“Students benefit from data-driven, personalized learning paths that boost their problem-solving and real-world readiness, while teachers are continually trained to integrate emerging technologies into classroom practice. The upcoming CBSE bootcamps will further complement this foundation, adding equal access, mentoring, and recognition for all participants.”

AI in UAE Curriculum

Chitra Sharma, Principal of JSS Private School, Dubai, highlighted the empowerment of teachers through AI-focused programs.

“Earlier professional development AI programs at JSS and recent initiatives like the CBSE AI Bootcamp have empowered our teachers to design personalized lesson plans, conduct efficient assessments, and make data-driven decisions. These programs have also enhanced teachers’ digital literacy and encouraged innovative pedagogical practices.”

She added that post-session opportunities, such as recognitions, will extend the bootcamps’ impact.

“To extend the bootcamps’ impact, we will integrate post-session opportunities like project-based learning, AI-focused clubs, exhibitions, fairs, and mentoring for junior students. After completing the initiatives, students and teachers will receive certificates and awards, ensuring they apply their learning and contribute to a sustainable culture of innovation and responsible AI use.”
