Ceasefire and Agreement Gains for Palestine

Nazzal added in statements to ‘Sputnik’ that the immediate cessation of hostilities in the sector is a significant gain for the Palestinian people, especially with the approach of winter. These tents will not protect the people from dangers, so it is necessary to bring in aid, protection, and relief as quickly as possible, which will occur after the cessation of killing and destruction by Israel. This is the first point that is a gain for Palestine.

He affirmed that the second important point in the agreement is the exclusion of annexation and settlement operations in Gaza, as well as preventing Israel from taking over and fully controlling the sector. He considered that these important points can be built upon later.

He pointed out that the American plan includes a vision for the presence of the Palestinian National Authority, and point 19 in the plan talks about reaching the establishment of a Palestinian state under specific conditions and circumstances.

Earlier on Monday, the White House issued a document to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. According to the document titled ‘President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza,’ Gaza will be a ‘region free of extremism and terrorism, posing no threat to its neighbors.’

He continued: ‘Within 72 hours of Israel’s public acceptance of this agreement, all hostages will be returned, alive and deceased.’ He added: ‘Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, in addition to 1,700 Gaza residents detained after October 7, 2023, including all women and children held in this context. For each Israeli hostage released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.’

He continued: ‘Once all hostages are returned, amnesty will be granted to Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and disarmament, and for those wishing to leave Gaza, a safe passage to host countries will be provided.’
