Closure of Loophole Targeting Sanaa Government

This was stated by the head of the Supreme Political Council formed by ‘Ansar Allah,’ Mahdi al-Mashat, according to the Yemeni News Agency ‘Saba’ on Monday. He confirmed that what he described as the ‘loophole’ that allowed Tel Aviv to target the government affiliated with them in Sanaa has been closed. He added, ‘The American used the UN humanitarian work to serve the Zionist,’ referring to it as ‘bad, ugly, and criminal.’

Mashat’s statements come after the release of 20 foreign and local UN officials and employees in Sanaa, who were detained two days ago in the Hadda area, south of Sanaa. The ‘Ansar Allah’ raid on the UN residential compound last Saturday followed hours after UN Secretary-General António Guterres rejected the group’s accusations against UN employees of spying for Israel and being involved in the assassination of the group’s prime minister and several of its ministers in airstrikes on Sanaa at the end of August.
