Jejovic collapsed 22 minutes into the match while his team was leading. This immediately called for the medical team’s intervention to try to revive him, but all efforts failed. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead just about twenty minutes later.
The Serbian Football Association mourned the late coach, who was only in his third match with the team. They noted that he had previously represented the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team during his playing career.
