The statement indicated that countries are ready to support the treatment of Gaza patients in the West Bank through funding, medical staff, or equipment, urging Israel to reopen the medical corridor to the West Bank and Jerusalem to resume evacuating patients from Gaza. According to the statement by the foreign ministers of these countries, Israel was asked to lift restrictions on the supply of medicines and medical equipment to the Gaza Strip, in accordance with international law. Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the European Union, and Poland were among the 25 countries that signed the statement, with the United States not being one of them. Earlier today, Saudi Arabia and France issued a high-level call for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, which took place in New York City, USA. The statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) stated: “We, the leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic, as presidents of the high-level international conference for the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, appreciate the countries that met at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 22, 2025, and the stability in the Middle East.” The statement clarified that “the time has come for the international community to move from words to actions, and we value the significant efforts made by the seventeen presidents of the working groups emanating from the conference to chart a rapid implementation path for the two-state solution, and we call on all countries to expedite the implementation of the New York Declaration through practical, tangible, and irreversible steps, and we welcome the commitments and measures initiated by the United Nations member states.” Paris and Riyadh welcomed “the recognition by Australia, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, alongside France, of the State of Palestine, as officially announced today at the United Nations General Assembly, and we urge countries that have not yet taken this step to join this path.” It is worth mentioning that the two-state solution is a political proposal aimed at resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict by establishing two independent states, a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, alongside the State of Israel, which aligns with the vision of the international community. However, obstacles, including the refusal of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements to recognize Israel, Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Palestinian divisions, ongoing mutual violence, and political stalemate between the parties, hinder the achievement of this solution to date.
