Mujawar stated in a press release conveyed by ‘Cairo News Channel’: ‘You will see the destruction in Gaza with your own eyes, which is more important than reports.’ Holan expressed his dissatisfaction with the closure of the Rafah crossing, explaining that trucks are waiting at a nearby gate to reach the Kerem Shalom crossing. He asked about the waiting period, to which the governor replied: ‘Two to three months, which poses an economic danger.’ Mujawar affirmed his commitment to a two-state solution to achieve security and peace in the region.

Last Wednesday, the Israeli army called ‘the residents of Gaza City and the northern sector to move south.’ In a statement described as important, the Israeli army said that ‘evacuating Gaza City is inevitable,’ adding that ‘before transitioning to the next phase of the war, there are vast empty areas in the southern sector as well as in the central camps and in Al-Mawasi.’

The residents of the sector are suffering from unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of the spread of famine and the rising death toll resulting from malnutrition, especially among children, patients, and people with disabilities. From October 7, 2023, to August 21, 2025, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of about 62,000 Palestinians, along with approximately 157,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
