For the first time, attendees at the Dubai Airshow 2025 will witness electric air taxis taking flight as part of the aerial showcase, offering a preview of future urban travel once these aircraft become a regular transport option.

The live demonstrations of eVTOLs (electric vertical take-off and landing) come as the Dubai Airshow gears up for its most ambitious edition yet. With over 200 aircraft participating in both flying and static displays, this is the largest lineup in the event’s history, featuring commercial, private, and military categories.

Event organizers highlight that introducing air taxis signifies the Airshow’s broadened focus on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), combining global innovators in electric propulsion, automated flight systems, and new air traffic frameworks designed to enable on-demand urban flights.

Tim Hawes, Managing Director at Informa Markets, stated that including eVTOLs “goes beyond merely showcasing aircraft; it’s about demonstrating the possibilities when vision, technology, and collaboration come together.”

Several aircraft will make their first appearance at the Dubai Airshow this year. Notable mentions include China’s COMAC C919 and C929, Embraer’s KC-390 Millennium, as well as the Airbus A350-1000 and Boeing 777-219ER.

The Dubai Airshow 2025 is scheduled from November 17 to 21 at Dubai World Central, bringing together over 1,500 exhibitors, 490 delegations, and 350 speakers from nearly 100 countries.
