Dubai Basketball’s head coach, Jurica Golemac, enters the 2025/26 preseason with confidence following a summer dedicated to crafting a 16-player roster for the EuroLeague and ABA League.

“We’ve been building this team since early this year, and we’re thrilled with our new players,” Golemac stated.

“It was crucial to recruit players who could quickly form a cohesive team. Though challenging, we’ve added driven players with strong character, and I’m very optimistic about the upcoming season.”

The Slovenian coach views competing in dual major tournaments as both a privilege and a unique challenge. “Preparation, competition, analysis – those remain constant,” he explained. “However, the travel and schedule are unprecedented. We are pioneers in this. It will be tough, but we won’t complain. Instead, we’ll embrace the challenge and stay focused.”

A significant challenge is starting the preseason without eight players currently participating in EuroBasket or the AmeriCup with their national teams. Golemac recognized this difficulty but also saw it as a testament to the roster’s quality.

“Naturally, we’d prefer to have the full team from day one, but the presence of so many internationals highlights our roster’s level. We’ll welcome early arrivals, make them comfortable, and integrate each returning national team player promptly.”

Golemac also addressed the demanding schedule ahead — potentially doubling from 40 games last season to 80 if Dubai reaches the playoffs and finals. “Managing travel, training, and recovery is the biggest challenge. With 20 EuroLeague teams, finding time for practice and analysis is crucial.”

Finally, Golemac addressed the supporters.

“Our mission is to compete relentlessly. Fans can expect us to be physical, representing the city, club, and them. As in previous years, we aim for them to be our sixth player. With their energy, it will be even harder for any team to defeat us at home,” he concluded.

Season tickets are available on the Coca-Cola Arena website for fans to witness the UAE’s most significant basketball season yet.
