Dubai Basketball showcased their strong home form in the EuroLeague with a thrilling 89-88 triumph in Round 15 at Coca-Cola Arena, thanks to their excellent late-game execution.
Throughout the night, Dubai Basketball had to play catch-up, struggling early with perimeter shots and facing periods where their offense stagnated.
Even when trailing by 12 points in the fourth quarter, the team remained composed, leveraging their depth and persistence to keep the game within reach.
The game turned in the final minutes as Dubai Basketball found their rhythm from outside. American guard McKinley Wright and Awudu Abass sparked a late barrage from three-point range, closing the gap and shifting momentum with the backing of 5,000 fervent fans at Coca-Cola Arena.
This momentum carried Dubai Basketball to a nail-biting finish. Although the visitors briefly took the lead in the last minute, the home team held firm.
Head Coach Jurica Golemac reflected on the match, saying: “This win was crucial. We never gave up, even when it seemed impossible. Everyone in the Arena likely thought we couldn’t win, but our players fought hard for each other and the club, and their effort paid off.”
McKinley Wright led with 22 points and seven assists, delivering crucial plays when needed most.
Abass added 15 points and seven rebounds, while Filip Petrušev and Mfiondu Kabengele each contributed 12 points.
Justin Anderson and Kosta Kondić also scored 11 points each, capping a balanced team effort that demonstrated Dubai’s relentless spirit.
