Dubai Municipality teams swiftly removed a dead animal found on the shores of the emirate’s beach, as per a statement released by the civic authority.
Initial evaluations suggest that the animal possibly fell from a vessel in open waters, according to a statement to Khaleej Times, highlighting that the event poses no environmental or biological contamination risk.
On Saturday, Khaleej Times reported that beachgoers were surprised to find a dead cow on the rocks of Dubai’s Mamzar Beach Park. A resident visiting with her family noticed the animal due to a strong odor and alerted Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality.
DM confirmed that their teams will maintain continuous monitoring of Dubai’s beaches and marine areas, ensuring top cleanliness, public health, safety, and marine protection standards.

Dubai’s Commitment to Cleanliness
On Monday, DM showcased its use of advanced technology at Gitex 2025 to maintain Dubai as one of the world’s cleanest cities. It introduced Dubai Live, a digital platform for real-time management of city operations and municipal activities across the emirate. This initiative integrates technologies like artificial intelligence, Digital Twin models, and predictive analytics for urban management.
Another technology unveiled was the smart clean index system, featuring multiple digital programs for city waste management. It can manage, monitor, and document sanitation operations, track waste from generation to disposal, and provide accurate data for measuring operational and strategic indicators.
“With artificial intelligence, we precisely monitor waste generated by each community and track trends,” said Ahmed Saeed, municipal waste operation specialist. “We then create targeted awareness campaigns for those communities to reduce waste generation.”
He added that the system also tracks the Municipality workers in each area.
The Municipality also presented RASID, a satellite-based system monitoring waste collection vehicles and providing real-time data 24/7. These projects support Dubai’s goal of becoming the cleanest and most sustainable city globally. The vehicles detect potholes, fallen trees, open manholes, overflowing waste bins, hazards, road conditions, and bulky waste in real-time.
