Dubai Investments, a prominent investment company listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), has announced plans to double its float glass production at Emirates Float Glass (EFG) by adding a second line.
This new line will boost EFG’s daily production from 600 to 1,200 tonnes, and will introduce Ultra Clear low-iron glass, a pioneering feature in the MENA region, offering unmatched clarity and quality.
The second float line is set to be operational between late 2027 and early 2028, featuring advanced automation, energy-efficient systems, and cutting-edge process controls to ensure superior product quality, reliability, and energy efficiency. Designed to reduce environmental impact, it aligns with Dubai Investments’ sustainable growth objectives.
Abdulaziz Bin Yakub Al Serkal, CEO of Dubai Investments’ Industrial Platform, stated: “The launch of EFG’s second float line is a significant development for the glass industry in the region. By enhancing production capacity and introducing Ultra Clear glass, EFG elevates the UAE’s status as a leader in advanced manufacturing. This expansion underlines EFG’s dedication to innovation and sustainable growth, diversifying into premium segments and delivering increased value to partners in construction, infrastructure, and design, supporting Dubai Investments’ long-term strategy.”
This cutting-edge facility will enable EFG to meet the rising demand across various sectors and create substantial opportunities in regional and global markets. The advanced production capabilities will solidify EFG’s role as a leader in high-performance glass and a reliable supplier of premium-quality, innovative products internationally.
The project, executed with HORN Glass Industries of Germany, a renowned technology provider and supplier of glass melting furnaces, will also involve a UAE-based civil contractor and an international administration firm, ensuring top-notch project management and execution.
This expansion underscores Dubai Investments’ leadership in industrial innovation, pioneering Ultra Clear glass production, and advancing high-performance glass solutions in the MENA region.
