Dubai Police have introduced an Intelligent Traffic System that autonomously detects five types of traffic violations without human involvement. This AI-driven platform, presented at GITEX Global 2025, reviews live video to spot infringements in real time, evaluating how well drivers adhere to road regulations.
Designed as a cohesive digital system, it employs artificial intelligence and data analytics to track violations. The system identifies five main offences: failing to wear a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, blocking traffic, stopping unnecessarily in the road, and not keeping a safe distance between vehicles.
The platform offers live updates on the number of vehicles monitored and violations recorded, providing an immediate snapshot of traffic compliance throughout Dubai. It also creates detailed statistics by hour, day, and year, helping authorities make informed decisions for better traffic management and quicker emergency response.
