The Dubai Police have launched an innovative Biometric Tunnel that uniquely identifies individuals by analyzing their walking patterns. This cutting-edge system debuted at Gitex Global 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Created by Dubiometrics, the tunnel employs artificial intelligence and machine learning to evaluate intricate body movements, such as joint motion, walking rhythm, and personal characteristics like the impact of flat feet. It can capture a person’s motion fingerprint in just five seconds.
Lt Col Dr Hamad Mansour Al Awr, the project director, stated that the tunnel is a part of the Dubai Police’s continuous research and development initiatives. The system can also combine gait data with other biometric identifiers, including facial, ear, and body metrics, enhancing the evidence available for criminal investigations.

Al Awr also mentioned that by analyzing walking patterns, forensic experts can more accurately identify individuals, especially when traditional methods are unavailable, thus reinforcing police investigations.
