Dubai residents have a new opportunity to earn extra income by delivering Amazon packages on foot in busy areas of the city.
Amazon UAE, in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, has launched a program enabling individuals to engage in the gig economy.
This initiative follows Amazon’s commitment to the Dubai Future Foundation’s Sandbox Dubai project, focusing on the Gig Economy sector, endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.
This pilot program offers individuals and small businesses a chance to earn flexible income through on-foot delivery services.
A video illustrates the process: Mohammed, employed at a grocery store, hears a honk while working. He goes outside to an Amazon van, dons a delivery vest, and begins delivering packages to local residents on foot.
Less traffic. Lower emissions. More opportunity.
Under Sandbox Dubai, and in collaboration with Amazon UAE, a new pilot is exploring on-foot last-mile deliveries, supporting flexible income, easing congestion, and reducing emissions in dense areas.
