Local Syrian sources reported this Wednesday evening that the sounds of violent explosions heard in the countryside of Damascus are due to airstrikes carried out by Israeli aircraft on Syrian military sites. The Syrian sources confirmed that the military sites targeted by Israeli fire are located in the Al-Kiswah area, southwest of the capital Damascus. The airstrikes focused on vehicles, tanks, and training sites affiliated with the Ministry of Defense in Jabal al-Mani, preceded by intense Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flights in the same area.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs consistently asserts “Damascus’s legitimate right to defend its land,” calling on “the international community to bear its responsibility to stop Israeli aggressions.” Last Monday morning, in several locations in the countryside of Damascus and Quneitra, Israeli forces took control of Tal Bat al-Warda and stormed the village of Beit Jinn, directly firing at civilians, causing panic among the residents, marking a clear escalation in military actions on the Syrian border.
The Syrian News Agency, SANA, stated: “An occupation force consisting of 11 vehicles and more than 60 soldiers penetrated the area between the town of Beit Jinn and the Beit Jinn farm in the western countryside of Damascus, taking control,” noting that “they fired towards the residents without causing injuries.” It indicated that “occupation forces infiltrated several towns and villages in the Quneitra countryside, storming Jabata al-Khashab, Tarangeh, Al-Rafeed, Manshiya Suwayseh, Breqa, Bir Ajam, Kodna, Ain Ziwan, Ain al-Abd, raided several houses, searched them, and then withdrew.”
According to Syrian media, Israeli forces penetrated further, setting up checkpoints and arresting a number of civilians.
